BISMARCK'S ANGER WITH THE EMPEROR.
Somo interest is taken hero (says tho London Standard's Berlin correspondent) in a story about tho lato Prince Bis- ! marck's dismissal by tho Emperor Wil- | liam, which is related by Herr Schwanet; Tho dispute between tho Emperor aud Bismarck, it will bo lemcmbcrod, had its ! origin Jn the Chancellor's* reception of Dr. WindUiorst without the Emperor's knowledge. Herr Schwaner says : — ' "Tho discussion led to such acute- difference of opinion that it seemed almost impossible that Bismarck could lomain a member of tho Government any longer. i In his anger ho had even gono &» far as to raise an inkstand agaiu&t his Imperial nuurter. Although Herr Maximilian Harj ilen does not say anything about this in his account of tho crisis, the Emperor related tho incident to his friend, King Al- | bert of Saxony, who told it to Herr Moritz yon Egidy, from whom I heard it. I I toll it now for the ilrht time publicly, in , order 'to put tho legends leyurding the ungrateful treatment of the founder of the , Empire in a proper light, and I mention , name 1 * that will immediately disaim nil suspicion as fo the authenticity of the story."
