MEETING OF RUSSIAN MINISTERS.
AN INTERVIEW DENIED. ST. PETERSBURG, 29th January. A special Council of Ministers was hf'id at St. Petersburg with the object of discoveiing a pneific issue to the situation in Iho Fur En«t. Count Lamsdorff (Minister for Foreign AiTnirn), General Kouropatkiu (Minister of War), and the bonds of tho Asiatic Department attended. The Council is to repot t to tho Tsar today. A flemi-ofiicinl denial is given at St. Petersburg to tho statement that M. Plnncon, former Russian Charge d'Affaire© at Pckin, infouned tho Daily Mail corrohpondent at Port Arthur that Washington's action in milking a treuty with China under existing circumstances without Russia's knowledge or consent was, iv his opinion, unfriendly and undiplomatic. ___^__^__^___
