ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES ACCIDENT ON THE WHARF.
This morning a serioiw accident befel a whiiif labourer named William Main on the Queen's Wharf. Ho wus working alongside the Ktuamer Mararou, and got jammed between the mdo of tho vessel by a heavy euMt. tho lesulf being thut \lho bn.se of his .skull wits fracturou, and his left arm broken, lie was tamed into one of the Harbour Board's goods sheds, where he \\»n attended by Dis. Pollen and Henry, and afterwards sent to tho Hoiipitul. Main ks a manied man, about thirty-two years of age, and resides with his wife and child at No. 37, Adelaideroad. He wus in a very critical condition at the time of hii» removal to the Hospital. Tho Hospital authorities report that Main is in a sinking condition, and cannot possibly live. Mr. Owen Clear, a well-to-do and reRpccted farmer of Kivituna, died suddenly last night. He had strolled for a xmoke after tea/ and was found dead in a sitting position beside a creek.
