DUNEDIN, 10th December. Oats. — Prime milling arid bright feed met with fair demand, but little business is passing in the absence of stocks. Medium and discoloured are offered freely, but for these there is little demand. Prime milling 2s 8d to 2s 9d, good to best feed 2s 6d to '2s Bd, medium, discoloured and inferior, 2s to 2s sd, sacks extra. Wheat; — There is enquiry for milling lines, velvet being in special domand. Local stooks are extremely small, .and as holdings in the country do not appear lasge it is almost impossible to fill buyers' reqairements. Fowl feed is scarce, and has again advanced. Prime milling 5s to 58 6d, medium to good 4s 6d to 4s lOd, whole fowl wheat 4s 3d to 4s 6d, broken and damaged 3s 9d to 4s 2d, sacks extra. At Homebush sale yards, Sydney, on, Thursday, the 4th inst., there were 24,335 sheep and lambs forward, the efuality again being medium, with a large percentage of stores and a scarcity of primes. Buyers were in full attendance, including several graziers. Bidding for best sheep was brisk, valurs ruling better than the previous Monday's. The demand for other descriptions was also good, outside buyers operating well. The result was that sales went off readily at slightly improved prices. The market all through was a very good one for all qualities. Shorn— Best crossbred wethers made 18s 6d, good 14s 6d to 15s 6d, medium from 10s 6d; best crossbred ewes from 16s 6d, good 13a to 14s, medium from 10s; best merino' wethers from 18s, good 13s 6d to 14s, medium from 10s 6d ; best merino ewes from 12s, extra to 15s . Bd, good 10s bd to 11s, medium from 8s 6d, others lower. "Wool — Merino wethers i to 15s, few to 19s 9d : best merino ewes to 15s. There were 878 cattle forward, made up largely of light and inferior cattle, with odd yards of heavy prime ' sorts, including a line from New Zealand, and 30 head from Quat Quatta. Competition was good, values being about equal to late rates, especially for primes. Stores buyers operated well for the lower sorts. Best beef was worth to about 48s per 1001b. Best bullocks made from £17 10s extra to £22 17s 6d, good from £13 sa' medium from ±>9 5s ; best cows from £11 extra to £18 10s, good from £9, medium from £7 ss, others lower.
