THE MOZAMBIQUE AFFAIR.
MR. DANGROVE'S VERSION. LPRESS ASSOCIATION.! (Received November 17, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 16th November. Mr. Dangrove, who was reported a day or two ago to claim a portion of Portuguese territory with a view to forming a new State under British suzerainty, has arrived at Durban. He declares that the Governor of Mozambique authorised him to hoist the Portuguese flag and proceed to Mokamba Bay. He arrived at the territory of the Chief Marave, and hoisted the Portuguese and Australian flags. The Chief declared his willingness to protect the latter,' but not the former, until the release of his brother, who had been imprisoned for not protecting Portuguese envoys.
