NEW SOUTH WALES CIVIL SERVICE.
LIABILITIES OF THE SUPERANNUATION FUND. [press association.] (Received November 13, 9.44 a.m.) SYDNEY, j.his Day. The report of the New South Wales Public Service Board shows thai, the liabilities to the -Service Superannuation Fund amount to £2,324,000. xiie assets are only £563,000, which will do little more than meet obligations for the current year. This parlous condition is the result in a. large measure of retrenched Civil Servants becoming chargeable to the fund. An actuarial report attached recommends the necessity of Government assistance, and suggests moderating the pensions and increasing the contributions.
