SATURDAY'S MATCHES. GAMES FOR THE PENNANT. The anntfal gomes for the Pennant, "which practically carries champion honours for the season with it, were begun on Saturday. The trophy is at present held by the Newtown Club. Saturday^ games -were — Victoria v. Thoyndon, on the Newtown green, and Newtown against Wellington on the Thorndon green. The Victoria-Thorndon game resulted in a victory for Victoria. The scores ■were as follows : — Victoria: MacMorran, Scott, Redstone, Mack (skip), 24; Thorndon: Conlin, Blanchard, JQlgour, Hogben (skip), 27. < Victoria: Snaddon, Avery, S^chultz, Gooder (skip), 31; Thorndon: Freeman, M'Eldowney, Wiggins, Wright' (skip), Victoria: Martin, W. Hendry, Keith, Hueston (skip), 23; Thorndon: Reeves, M'Manaway, Andrews, Longton (skip), 12. Victoria: Anderson, M'Gowan, Townsend, Brackenridge (skip), 16 ; Thorndon : Archibald, Clark, Burns, Sievwright (skip), 15. Totals — Victoria 94, Thorndon 65 ; majority for Victoria, 29. i Tho game between Wellington and Newtowiif was won by Wellington. Totals—Wellington 92, Newtown 68;, majority for Wellington, 24. The Junior Pennant match was also began. - Victoria won from Thorndon by default. Two rinks of colts from the Newtown Club played a like number from the Victoria Club, and were -defeated by 20 points.
