THE COMING ROYAL VISIT. NEW ZEELAND ARRANGEMENTS.

During his recent visit to the South, whence lie returned on Saturday, Mr. T. E. Donne, Superintendent of the Tourist Traffic Department, completed all the arrangements for the tour ol the Duke and DUchess of York through the colony. On their arrival in Auckland, the Royal p«tffcy will proceed to Government House, and the Suite will be accommodated at ,the Grand Hotel, Princes-street. • The 'Dake and Duchess will stay at the Grand Hotel while 1 at Rotorua, where a large boardinghouse is to be secured for the ssuite. The programme at Rotorua will a drive to WaiotapU. In Wellington the Duke and Duchess will stay ' at Government House, and their retinue ,at Seari's Hotel, which, as well as Coker's Hotel, Christchurch, is to be refurnished by Messrs. Strange and Co., Christchuroh. The whole party, while in Christchurch, will reside at Coker's. In Dunedin the Duke and Duchess will stay •at the Fernhill Club, and the suite at the \ residences of Mrs. Stephenson, Mr. Sinclair, and Mr. J. A. Park. Tho Colonial Carrying Company is to 'look after the transport arrangements of ♦the travellers, who, with servants, will number nearly 100. The Duke has his own chef travelling with, him, and the latter will take charge of the victualling of the .Royal party. WELLINGTON'S PROCESSION. THE SHORT ROUTE ADOPTED. The Executive of the Wellington Joint Reception Committees met in the Council Chambers • this morning, the Mayor (Mr. J. G. W. Aitken) presiding.. An intimation was received from Lord Ranfurly that he would prefer a short route for the Royal procession. His Excellency suggested, as an alternative, that Manners-street should not be included in the route. This would mean that tfco processionshould go from Jervoisquay up Cuba-street into Ghuznecstreet and down Willis- street on to Lambtonquay. After discussion,- it was resolved that the original route suggested by Lord Ranfurly Should be adopted. The procession will, therefore, go along Jervoisquay, Cuba, Manners, and Willis streets, Lambton-.quay, Molesworth, Sydney, anc 1 Museum streets, enamg at Government House. A Special Committee, consisting of the Mayor, Messrs. "A. R. Atkinson, M.H.R., T. K. tMacdonald, and R. S. RoUnthwaite (City Engineer), was set uj to Confer with the Premier in the matter .of the decoration of the city.. It is the intention of the Government to spend £1000 upon decorations, in Wellington, and the Committee Avill report as to the ••parts to be taken by the Government and the Corporation respectively.
