CRICKET.
The Phoenix Club plaj r ed its annual match with the Greytown Club on the latter's own ground yesterday, and. won by 74 runs. Phsenix scored 107 (Cooke 43, Miller 13, Forrester 12. Harris 10 not out) and 99 for three wickets (Cooke 33 retired, Miller 80, Flint 22 not out). Knell, Lippin, and Tice•hurst divided the bowling honours l'orGrej'town, whose only innings realised 33, Duff (7 not out) being the top scorer. Miller, Hickey, and C. Midlane did good service with the ball for the winners. The town men were hospitably entertaiued by the Greytown players. The annual matches between the first and second elevens of the Past and Present Boys of Wellingtou College were played yesterday. Both were won by the Old Boys. The following are the details of the matches : — Senior Match. — College, first innings, 102 (Beechoy 27, Bidwell 18, Parkinson 18, Hales 11 not out). Gilmer (five for 17) was the moil successful bowler for ttye Old Boys. Second innings; 70 for six wiokets (Bidwell 15, Parkinson 11, Hales 17 not out. M'Gowan captured four wickets for 27. Old Boys 202 (innings declared closed). Kirkcaldie made 48, Douglas 40, P. Blacklock 24 not, out, Gore 18, Parsons 18, Jacobs 16, Wedde 11. Cook was the most sucoessul of the College bowlers. Junior Match. — College, first innings, 45 (Castle 20, Price 10). Girdlestone Captured 6ix wickets for 11, Wilson three for 8, and Meek two for 4. Second innings 87 (Wills 17, Maguire 13, Macdougall 11). Barr got two wickets for 8, Girdlestone four for 25, Salmon two for 14, and Meek two for 20). Old Boys, first inujngs. 57 (Barr 16, Salmon 14).- Chl lender (six for 3) and Maguire bowled best for the College. Second innings 110 (Girdlestone 22, Meek 22, Goldfinch 17 not out, Martin 13). Maguire and Castle were the most successful bowlers.
