Thero were 28,000 persons present at the Canterbury A. .and P. Show to-day, and £1240 was taken at the gates. The parade of stock was very interesting. The jumping events were tlxo best ever seen on the ground. Two men were ar k rested on charges of pocket-picking. DUNEDIN, 9th November. To-day was observed, as a close holiday. Glorious weather prevailed for .the holiday yesterday. The principal attractions were a marine excursion to Caps kidnappers by the Zealandia, the Tradesmen's Sports at Farndon, und th,e voliujt«er shooting contest at Waipawa.
