AUCKLAND, 9th November. At to-day's races the" 1 attendance was about 7000. The sum of £10,042 passed through the totalisator. The principal event of the programme, for which Gorohet was made a. pronounced favourite, resulted in a surprise, the winrfer turning up in Mr. J. T. Ryan's St. Leger mare La Qrloria, who made a runaway race of it, and rewarded her supporters with a handsome dividend of £13 Bs. Beddington's win in the Great Northern Guineas was rather an easy one. Along the top stretch, La Gloria, The Needle and Blue Jacket were on terms, with Coronet coming through the field. La Gloria Avas first into the straight, and, stalling off a challenge from Coronet, .won by a couple of lengths. Laetitia was fourth. Time, 2min 40sec, Dividend, £13 Bs.
