CRICKET.
_ r Teams of the Korokoro Club went to Upper Hutt and Featherston yesterday. T,he Upper Hutt players defeated Korokoro by 59 runs, but at Featherston the visitors won by four wickets. In both cases the visiting teams were heartily entertained by the local men. The match played at Lower Putt" yesterday between, the Waiwetu and jyilbirnie Clubs provided an • interesting finish. Waiwetu went in first, aud scored 90 runs— W. Pmgle 10, oounnax 13, Brice 10, and AuWbray 10, not out. Kilbirnie then went in, but could make no headway against the bowling of Puketapu and Pringle, nine wickets falling for 35 runs. Then Fred Alpe became asaooiatedl with T. Taylor, who had 1 batted steadily. The youngster gave a brilliant display of cricket -for 24, whilst the captain remained not out for 60. The oniy other double figure score was Topp, 15. Pringle and Puk.ota.pu got six wickets each for Waiwetu, who had made 28 for eight wickets in their second attempt. The , best of tlie Kilbirnie bowlete were Jack (five for 3), Plimmer (six for 31), and Weine- (four for 23). The visitors wene suitably entertained by the Waiwetu team.
