BOEKS SCATTERED NEAR ZEERUST LONDON, 27tli October. ' The troops - under Lord Methuen, Col. Douglas, and Col. the Earl of Enrol are dislodging and scattering th& Boers in the vicinity of Zeerust. Thirty-nine of the enemy and twenty waggons were captured. Three hundred Boiers made an. unsuccessful attack on Jacobsdal, near Modder River. The garrison, consisting of Capetown Volunteers and Highlanders, made an obstinate resistance. Fourteen British were killed and twenty wounded. The assailants were oath-breakers.
