CAPTURE OF JIMMY GOVERNOR. RUN TO EARTH BY SETTLERS., [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] SYDNEY, 27th October. News has been received of the capture of Jimmy Governor, one of the Breelong blacks outlawed for the Gilgandra murders. It appears that the outlaw robbed the hut of a man named Wallace. This man located the camp of tho blacks, which was watched by a party of settlers till morning. The tilaok was then called on to surrender, but he immediately bolted. An exciting chase took place, and tho murderer received a shot-gun wound in the back, but it was not serious. On being run down, he congratulated his capturors, / and said that the police "could not capture a new-born calf." The man had a Winchester rifle in his possession, but the breech was jammed. During the last few weeks he had lived chiefly on honey, and was very weak. Joe Governor left the captured man on the 17th, and is hiding about fifty miles from where Jimmy Governor was run down. 28th Ootober. A long statement has been made by the captured man, in which he says that the Mawrbys were murdered because they were always taunting his wife (a white woman) with having married a black fellow. He states that M'Kay and Fitzpatrick were shot by his brother, and' that the joolice narrowly missed capturing them several times.
