SAVE THE BASIN RESERVE.
TO THE EDITOR. • Sir, — If it wculd not be trespassing too much of you valuable space I would like to add a new scheme to the many already proposed for the carrying out of the new tram service. Take the tram through Cambridge-terrace avenue on an easy grade as far as the Basin, run a tunnel underneath the Reserve to come out in the ChinatnaD's garden tin the south end, or somewhere between the Reserve and the present tram sheds. This I -think would obviate many of the difficulties to bo overcome. — I am, etc., UP-TO-DATE TRAM. Island Bay, 21&t September, 1900.
