The same evening Edwnid Taylor, one of the quartermasters, was hurled by a big sea agttin&t the companion ladder, creaking his light leg badly between the knee and the ankle. As all the deck coal was washed overboard by the seas, Captain Kiddle decided to return to Wellington for additional bunker supplies and to secure medical assistance for Taylor, ■who has been removed to tlie Wellington Hospital.
