YET ANOTHER QUEENSLAND TRAGEDY.
TRIPLE MURDER AND SUICIDE. [press association.] BRISBANE, 4th January. Another fearful tragedy has occurred in this colony — the third within one week. From St. George, a town 380 miles southwest of Brisbane, ou the Balouue fiver, word has been received that a Mr 9. Goward and her son, aged 17 years, were found murdered in their beds, both having been shot through the head. In a paddock adjoining the house the body of Miss Goward was found alongside that of her lover, a man named Snow. Both were dead, their throats having been cut. It has been ascertained that Snow was the perpetrator of the shocking affair, having murdered the mother, daughter, and son, arid then committed suicide. AN EYE-WITNESS OF AN AWFUL SCENE. (Received January 5, 9.40 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. Snow's death was witnessed by a boy, who says that the murderer administered strychnine to his sweetheart and also took some himself. The girl, who was in great pain, asked Snow to take her life with his knife, which he did, and after hastening his own death in like manner, told the boy to take the knife to a selector.
