OUR MEAT-CARRYING FLEET.
♦ LAUNCH OP A NEW SHAWSAVILL STEAMER. [PKESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received May 13, 9.45 a.m.) London. 12th May. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's new steamer Kumara has been launched at Neiveastle. The vessel will accommodate about 100,000 carcases of meat. < [No particulars of the neAV ship have yet reached the colony further than that she is a vessel of about 6500 tons. Captain Scotland, formerly of the Aotea, stayed in England to superintend her construction, and will command her on her maiden trip, on which she Avill arrive in the colony about the end of the year.]
