• j REMARKS AT AN ANGLOCOLONIAL DINNER. [PBEBS ASSOCIATION.] London, 12 th May. Sir Robert G. W. Herbert, formerly | Premier of Queensland, Avho was Permanent Under Secretary of State for the Colonies from 1877 to 1892, presided at the annual dinner of the Colonial Club. The Agents-General and 200 guests were present. Lord Aberdeen (ex- Viceroy of Ireland and till last year Governor-General of Canada) stated in the course of his speech that the Government might reconsider its decision with regard to the Pacific cable.
