THE COMING GENERAL ELECTION,
« AN ORGANISER FOR THE LIBERAL PARTY. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, 26th January, At a meeting of tbe Education Board a letter was read from Mr. Arthur Edwards, head teacher of the Huutley District School, giving three mouths' notice of his intention to resign his appointment as head teacher of the school. This was followed by another letter from Mr. Edwards stating that having been appointed by the Premier " Organiser of the Liberal Party," he respectfully asked for leave of absence during the term of his notice of intention to resign his position as head teacher. The Board accepted the resignation, but declined to give the leave of absence. Timaku, 26th January. Mr. John Storrier, iron founder, addressed a meeting of electors this evening, as a candidate for next general election. He announced himself an Independent Liberal, and was severely critical of the present Ministry.
