THE DREYFUS SENSATION.
[PBIISS ASSOCIATION.! Pabis. 29th December. The Court of Cassation has examined M. Barthou, who was Minister of Public Works when Dreyfus was tried, and also ex-Presi-dent Casimir-Perier. Of course (says the London correspondent of the Melbourne Age, writing on 11th November) the revision of the trial will entail the disgrace of one general, if not two, the cashiering of several officers holding high rank in the French Army, and the demolition of the lies and forgeries set up by the General Staff. It is stated most positively that the police have warned certain persons who have taken a prominent part in bringing about revision that their lives are in danger. There is little doubt that since the important message of Colonel Schwartzkoppen to Esterhazy was deciphered by Colonel Picquart, and placed in the archives of the Intelligence Department of the War Office, this document has been tampered with, and a. false petit &&« concocted, in order to suggest that the original petit bleu was forged by Colonel Picquart. It seems strange now, with all the evidence of his innocence, that the French War Office should dare to keep Colonel Picquart in custody any longer.
