THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.
AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE AMERICANS. [PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Washington, 29th December. The Spaniards evacuated the southern islands of the Philippines, with the exception of Zamboanga and Mindanao, before the Americans were ready to occupy them. The authorities here suspect that this step was taken in order to increase the complications between the Filipinos and the Americans.
