UNCLE SAM'S WAR PRIZES.

< ♦ THE INFANTA MARIA TERESA RE-FLOATED. [press association.] Washington, 26th September. The Infanta Maria Teresa, one of Admiral Cervera's cruisers, which was driven ashore during the engagement off Santiago, has been re-floated.

The Maria Teresa, which was Admiral Cervera's flagship when he ventured out of Santiago, is a valuable prize, although, of course, her actual value is much discounted by the havoc wrought by the American guns in the engagement. She is a steelarmoured cruiser of 7000 tons, built at Bilbao in 1800, with a belt of armour 12in thick — 10£ in of armour at the gun positions, and 3in deck plating. Her speed was 20aknotg an hour, and her bunkers would carry a nomiual coal supply of 1200 tons. When run ashore some 20 miles to the west of Santiago harbour she had been on fire, and was left in a much battered condition.
