THE ALLEGED ESTERHAZY FORGERIES.
London, 25th September. The Observer, the English paper which stated a few days ago that Major Esterhazy had confessed to extensive forgery of documents in connection with the Dreyfus case, has now published a further statement. It says that Major Eslerhazy declares that he wrote the bordereau at the request of Colonel Saudherr, one of the members of the courtmartial which tried Captain Dreyfus, and who has since died. The document was intended to constitute material proof of Drey.fuss gujlt, the Military Intelligence Department merely possessing moral proof agaiust Dreyfus. Esterhazy obeyed Colonel Sandherr's order without the slightest hesitation. THE QUESTION OF RE-OPENING DREYFUS'S CASE. A DEADLOCK IN THE JUDICIAL COMMISSION. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES BAR \ THE AVAY. (Received September 26, 8.50 a.m.) Pabis, 25th September. The Judicial Commission appoiuted by the Cabinet to consider the question of reopening the Dreyfus case is equally divided for and against a new trial. The dissenters hold that the legal conditions necessary to warrant a re-opening have not been fulfilled.
