WELLINGTON KENNEL CLUB.

♦ There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Wellington Kennel Club last night. Dr. Newman was in the chair, and congratulated the club on the progress which it had made during the year. The report and bain nee sheet were adopted. The report reviewed the events of the year, and congratulated members on the continued progress of the club. The membership roll now stands at 65, and is mainly composed of those who take an active interest in the welfare of the club. The Committee impressed upon members the importance of individually using every endeavour that would tend to further the interests of the club. Art unions were now discouraged by tho powers that be, and this shrinkage of revenue must be met in some other way. Officers for the year were elected as follows :—Patron, His Excellency the Governor; President, Dr. Newman; Vice-Presidents, Messrs. D. G. A. Cooper, P. Hunter, F. AY. Sewell, E. Triggs, F. A. Kebbell, C. B. Izard, C. J. Johnston, AY. S. Stallard, and several ladies (pending their acceptance of the position); General Committee, Messrs. G. A. Tattle, Fraser, Harrop, F. AY. Maddox, H. Wi'jght, 11. E. Bannister, Hudson, It. Cook; and TV. R. Morris; Auditor, Mr. Gerard; Hon. Treasurer, Mr. A. B. Clater; Hon. Sec, Mr. A. W. Stevens. The question of registering the club under the Unclassified Societies Act was deferred. It was decided to hold the annual show about the end of September. The Committee met subsequently, aud decided that the judges for the various classes should be specialists. It was stated that a number of special prizes had been offered, including one from the Sunlight Soap Company.
