4 [press association.] Melbourne, 6th July. The steeplechaser Zouroff broke his neck at Flemington to-day. Clondalkin has been scratched for the Grand National Hurdle Race. , Gisbobne, sth July. The following are the further results of the Gisborne Park Steeplechase Meeting : — Flying Handicap, six furlongs — Markinch, 9st 111b, 1 ; Tapuhere, 9st, 2 ; Three Star, list, 3. En Avant, Medal, Lyddite, and Llangollan also ran. Won comfortably. Time, lmin 19sec. Dividend, £4 le. Hunters' Steeplechase, two miles. — Jim, 1 ; Macaroni, 2 ; The Bishop, 3. Won by a bare length. Time, 4min 30 2-ssec. Dividend, £1 18s. Winter Oats Handicap, one mile. — Pinepinetekura, lOst slb, lj Three Star, lOst 121b, 2; Ngariki, 9st, 3. Brigand, Popgun, Markinch, Moetahi, and En Avant also ran. Won easily. Time, lmin 48 l-ssec. Dividend, £5 6s. The total amount on the machine for the day was £1232, >as against £1647 last year. Sylvia Park and The Major have been scratched for all engagements nt the Wellington Racing' Club's Winter Meeting. Mr. J. Hay ward, of Featherston, has purchased Saracen, by St. George— Fair Nell, for stud duties.
