COLLIERS' WAGES IN THE NORTH.
[BY TELEGBAPH — PKESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland. 24tli September. There is a dispute as to wages between the Ngunguru Coal Company and the miners at Kiripaka. The present rate is 2s 2£d per ton for mining coal. The miners, it is said, want a sliding scale according to* the thickness of the seam. The company proposed to pay from 2s s£d to 3s 5d per ton for niiuing coal, but the terms were refused, hence the dispute.
