MR. CHAMBERLAIN URGED TO VISIT THE COLONIES.

MB. SEDDON MEETS LEADING BRITISH MINISTERS. (Received July 23, 10.15 a.m ) London, 22nd July. During the Conference between the Colonial Office officials and the visiting 1 Premiers the latter informed Mr. Chamberlain, Secretary of State, that the Australasian colonies would gladly welcome him if he paid them a visit. Mr. Chamberlain replied that it would be quite impossible for him to visit the colonies unless he resigned from the Cabinet, or unless some momentous matter arose in connection vith which his visit could be of service to both the colonies and England, and should the occasion arise he would. A brilliant reception was given the Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, Premier of New Zealand, Mrs. Seddon, and Chief Justice Way by the Constitution Club. The visitors met Mr. Balfour (First Lord of the Treasury), Sir Michael Hicks-Beach (Chancellor of the Exchequer), the Duke of Norfolk (Post-master-General), and Mr. Ritchie (President of the Board of Trade).
