SOUTHLAND A. & P. ASSOCIATION. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] InvERCARGILL. 9th May.
The report of the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association presented at the annual meeting showed that the Association had had a successful year, the financial position having been bettered by over £100, while the liabilities are nil. Mr. P. L. Gilkinsou was elected President. Some dissatisfaction was expressed at the position occupied in. reference to the show ground, which is part of the Town Domain, and held by a board of management for the Association and several athletic societies. Complaints were made that while the Agricultural and Pastoral Association pays half the cost, it has only two representatives on a board of nine. The society is looking out for land elsewhere.
