THE MAORI CANDIDATES.
Five of the candidates for the Western Maori sent are half-castes, viz. : — Te Aolnju. Nekitiwi (Levin), Ngarangi Katitia {Patea), Hohepa Horomona (Poriiua), Hone Omipi, who is better known as John Ormsbdb (Waikato), Remana Netane (Mangere, near Onebunga.) The candidates for the Eastern Maori Beat include two half-castes, viz.: — Wi Pere <Poverty Bay), and Tare Mete (Wairoa). Another half-caste — T. R. Ellison, an ex"Wellington footballer, is contesting the Southern Maori election. Both candidates for the Northern seat — Hone Heke and Kapa— are full-blooded Maoris. ,
