ASS A ULT AND ROBBERY. A MAN'S EARS CUT OFF.
A telegram was received by Inspector Pender this morning from Constable Bowden, of Pahiatua, to the effect that a man named Timothy O'Gormau was robbed last night at Pahiatua, while drunk, of a gold watch valued at £25, and both his ears were sliced off close to his head. It is supposed that the outrage took place about a mile from Pahiatua, when O'Gormau was going towards Mangatainoka. No further particulars are as yet to hand.
