THE EXPEDITION TO THE SOUDAN.
[press association.] (Received September 10, 11 a.m.) Cairo, 9th September. Osraan Digna, who has for some time past commanded the Dervish tribe's located near Suakin, is reported to have declined a request by the Khalifa that he should march upon Dongola, on the ground that it is imprudent to leave the way open for the Indian troops now at Suakin to advance into the interior.
