ANOTHER COAL CARGO TAKES FIRE.

[press association.] Sydney, 3rd May. Tho ship Ellen A. Reid, from Nowoastle to Manila, with 3000 tons of coal, has been towed into Sydney with her oargo on fire. The outbreak was discovered when the ship was 75 miles from land. It had then a good hold, and a oonrße was shaped for Port Stephens. All the air inlets were blooked, and holes were out in the deok, through whioh large quantities of water were poured. On reaobing Port Stephens the fire waß sufficiently subdued to allow of the vessel being towed here, whon the firo was quiokly extinguished. The hold is badly soorohed, and tho oargo damaged. This is another of many reoent oasos of the hoivting of cargoes by spontaneous combußtion.
