RESIGNATION OF A MAYOR
(Our Own Corretpott&ent.) Palmieston North, This Dat. At a meeting of the Borough Counoil last evening, a letter waa received from the Mayor (Mr. W. Park) resigning his office, owing to continued and serious illness of Mrs Park. Councillor Wood was appointed Mayor for the remainder of the term. The Counoil unanimously decided to plaoe on record the very able and creditable manner in which the late Mayor had oarried out his various duties.
