• WELLINGTON COLLEGE v. NELSON COLLEGE. The seoond match of the College Tournament—Nelson v. Wellington— the result of whioh appeared in our second edition of yesterday, was witnessed by about 600 people* The Wellington team had its opponents in trouble from the kick-on!, but wretched passing at times nullified the advantage gained. M'Kentie, M'Ara, Buddie, and Smith were very conspicuous for good work on the looal side. M'Kenzie gained considerable ground by his fine kicking. There was no soore in the first spell. In the second half the Nelson College boys fell to pieces, and 20 points were registered against them. Edwards got a try, and Hales landed a fine goal from a penalty kick. Payton, M'Ara, Palethorpe, and Kember secured tries, the latter's score being made after a brilliant piece of work on the part of M'Kenzie. Haleß, by a fine kick, increased the score obtained by'Palethorpe. .Nelson was unable to score. M'Kenzie was the hero of tbe matoh, and performed yeoman service for the local team, while M'Ara and Buddie (the latter a firstclass little full-back) were also particularly noticeable. Mr. W. M'Kenxie was referee, and Messrs, Littlejohn (Nelson) and Eeid (Wellington) acted as touoh judges., Both teams left for the South by the Torawera in the evening. The Wellington representative team to play against Auokland on Saturday will meet at the Athletio Club's gymnasium thiß evening And on Thursday night.
