A PANIO AT TOKAANU. GENERAL FIJGHT OF THE INHABITANTS. TWe.haa been no shook of earthquake a! Taupo since S p.m yesterday, acoording to a tolegram received by the Seoretary ot the General Post Office from Mr. Park, tha local po3tnrister, at 9 15 this morning. At 11.40 a m. Mr. Park «cut the following telegram:— '•The miilman from Tokaanu reports' that everyone except the two storekeepers has left Tokaanu, even Maoris, as they fear the bottom will fall ont of the plane. They had 36 shocks on F.iday, p etty Bovere, but no damage was done. That i* -" the day we hid so few."
