Tho Justices held that the evidence lid hot shew that the man was in suoh a itate as to bave been looked npon as drunk. At the Snpreme Court, True Bills were 'ound in all oases but the oharge against ilunro of forging his father's name. Albert 3ods and James Blue were eaoh sentenced a two years' imprisonment for houseireaking; James Madon, to three months' 'or larocny from a dwelling ; George Wilkie, x> six months' for stealing an overcoat. John Uelvin, a lad of 14, pleaded Guilty to honseireaking, and was admitted to probation for lino months. Patriok M'Gee, for stealing £16 at Hyde, was admitted to probation for 12 months ; and Daniel M'Farlane, for assault, was also released on probation fof line months. Maty Bibby, who pleaded Gtuilty to forging a cheqno, w(ls ordered tjj nud seourity to come. up for sentence when sailed upon. Mary Joyoe was sentenced to six months' hard labour for aßsanlt and robbery. Auckland, 26th August. The steamer Richmond arrived three days late from Barctonga owing to her orank shaft carrying away. There- wa* a spare ons on board, but before the engineer could replace the broken shaft he bad to Bhif t the oargo, and three days were thus lost.
