Will he explain the following passage on page 22 of jjie Budget;— "As Canada is a large manufacturer and exporter of binder-twine, ropes, and, cordage, the oompetition which will ensue in this country in that industry will remove any friction that may have existed, and insure, at least a fair value upon this artiole"? 2. What article is referred to f S. HowdoeshereconoUebia statement with the statement in Table No. 11. attached to the Budget: "That during' ttte ijear referred to Canada exported only «3000 worth of cordage more than waa imported, while no twine or binder-twine were exported,- but £35,000 worth waa imported "f T6* &AWK COKHIITI*. The Bank Committee is Bitting again this afternoon to oonside'r its report, which will be brought down and disoussed to-morrow. A sab-committee of eight has considered the evidence, and is drafting the report for submission to the General Committee at • meeting at 4 o'olook. ' It is reported in the lobbies that the House will sit oontinuonßly from the time of the presentation of tho Committee's report ontil a decision has' been come to. _ The prevailing opinion is that a further guarantee will be asked for, and that the assets of the Kstatea Company "will be taken over by the' Government for realisation.
