♦ PEB3S ASSOCIATION. I „ London, 24th Aujrußt. The Statist says that the world's vrheat orop indicates that thd surplus of 18950896 ■will be about equal to the needs of the United Kingdom. The orop is 5| million quarters, whioh is believed to bo the smallest on record. (Rooeived August 26, 10.45 a m.) „, London. 25th August. The English wheat market is declining and lifeloßß, and since Monday last it has been virtually impossible to sell even at a deoline of Is. The Continental market is also declining and weak, and the Atnorican falling, with inoroased weakness. [Special.— Beoeived August 26, lla.m.J _, , London, 25th August. The world's wheat orop is estimated at 232,000,000 bußhels onder that of 1894. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's latest cable advioe, bearing Saturday's dote, says in regard to Tvheat and flour:— The market is weaker, and has a downward tendenoy. Last quotation — New Zealand average, 25« 6d per 4961b; New Zealand long-berried, 26s por 4961b.
