Mr. Plnnkett has retired from tbe directorate of the Londonderry mine, Coolgardie, alleging as the reason that he is unable to stand Colonel North's treatment of himself and Lord Fingall.The Times, referring to Mr. Plunkett baring resigned after Colonel North's condemnation of Lord Fingall's cable message, expects that the other direotorj also will resign. Another version of the train race claims that the North-Weslern Caledonian express ran from London to Aberdeen, 540 miles, in 538 minutes, and that the express by the East Coast did 527 miles in 551 minutes.
