WELLINGTON GOLF CLUB.

♦ The beautiful weather on Saturday afternoon not only assured a full attendance of players at the Miramar links, bnt bronght out a large number of spectators, who followed round the players in the " Foursomes ' for the handsome little silver medals presented by the olub captain, Mr. Wardrop. The committee is to be heartily congratu- , luted on its handicapping, whioh not only satisfied competitors before starting and left them all the expectation of a win, but made the results singularly dose. The winners turned ont to be Sir Arthur Douglas and Misa Duncan, and their win was a popular one — they were aooorded three oheers at the finish— but not less than five pairs were within five strokes of etch other.
