ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAMS.

TO THE JDITOB. Sib— ln referenoe to the picking of tbe Association football teams, the result of wnioh appear* in Friday's issue of your paper, I wonld liVa to say a few words on tbe subjeot. I« the A team the forwards, with ti»e exception of Hajlwood. are all leftwing players, and the half-baoks, with the exception of Heafford, are also left-wing men. In B tesm-.the forwards are all light -wing men with the exception of Blair, who haa played goalkeeper all this season), but the backs are stall left-wing men. In common justice to the players this mart be wrong. How can a man who has played left-wing all the season be expected W play right-wing as well as a man who baa played there all tbe time? It stands to tearra that this cannot be so. And for what reason have the team* been pioked in this manner P There are two reasons. Firstly,

the men have been pioked on their reputation and not on their individual play, and because of this sevnral now men and better playrrs lnvp been loft out, 5 simply bd-ansi" tboy aio not known. Secondly, two out of tha three men on the Selection Committee hive never seen either . the Queen's Park or the Rovers play, and • the third man is a playing member and captain of the senior tsam this year, and • therefore inooinpetent to be a judge, ua he has only seen the men play when ho has played against them bimsolf. 8 I am, &o , • Faie Plat.
