It is understood that in re-submittim; the Land and Income Tax Bills the Premier will leave a blank instead of fixing tbe amount of the exemptions, and thus let the Legislative ABeembly deal with the matter as it sees fit, and bear the onus of adopting or rejecting them, A letter has been received from Mr. Eddy, Railway Commissioner, dealing with the result of his visit to i'.'nglund on departmental matters. An impression prevails that Mr. Eddy returns to tho oolony at his old salary of £3000.
