The Counoil of the Wellington Law Society has passed the following resolution in rogard to tho late Judge Richmond :— " The Connoii place on record thoir sense of the great loss whioh haß been sustained by the oolony in tho death of Mr. Justico Richmond. Daring an exceptionally long earner he has invariably paid sornpnloua regard to the best traditions of the Bench, and to the demand made of its occupants that their private as well as publio character should be without reproach. Tho Council desire, on behalf of themselves and of those they represent, to off*r to tho widow and family of Mr. Justico Richmond a resDeotf ul assurance of profound sympathy in their irreparable loss. They trust that the universal recognition whioh has been mide of tho fiot that tho late Judge haß left an example most worthy of emulation may afford them Bomo oonsolati6n in their bereavement." The City Council paid its tribute to the memory of the lata Judge Richmond last night by passing the following resolution, on the motion of Councillor Devine, seconded by Councillor Willeston :— "That this Council places on record its deep sense of regret at the loss whioh the oolony has sustained in the death of tho late Judge Riohmond, and that a letter of oondolenoe bo sent to his widow and family, conveying the respeotful sympathy of the Connsil with them in their sad bereavement and their appreciation of the merits of the deceased."
