A SINGULAR SUICIDE.

(Our Own Vorrevondmt.) [>ER B.S. WAIHORA AT THE BLUFF. J Melbourne, 6th August. Edward Thorpe, manager of the Denilquin Freezing Works, was missed on Sunday, and on a search, being made in his room at a local hotel a letter was discovered addressed to Mrs. Young, the landlady, to the effect that he was troubled, and intended to end matters. Abont midday he was found in the Edwards River, about two miles above the town, standing up to his waist in water, with his arm out by a razor. He died abont 10 o'clook, from collapse through exposure. It is supposed that lie was in the water all the previous night. Deceased was a young man, muoli respected in the district, and had only been manager of the freezing works for two months. He leaves a widow and two children in Sydney. It is Btated that for some time the deceased had been peculiar in his manner, and it ia believed that the worry of managing such an extensive business had unhinged his mind.
