THE DUNEDIN DRAINAGE BILL.

TO THX BDITOB. Pin— A rnmonr in this town is to the effect that the above Bill is in danger. An it is a most unnecessary measure nobody here would be sorry if it want by the board, exoept, porhaps, one or two interested per. sons in the City Counoil. It is looked upon here by the ratepayers as altogether unnecessary, and it is very unpopular, there being at present sufficient drainage for the next 60 years, and it is only putting the unfortunate ratepayer* to, unneoeßsmry expense, and that at a, time when they are least prepared to face it. I haye apoken to several of our prominent citizens about it, and they al) agree that the Bill was never needed, and. that it was nothing bat a huge job. Hoping yon will please rive this space in your journal, and thanking you in anticipation, - 1 am, *0., E.H. Dunedin, Brd August. .
