MARVELLOUS ESCAPES OF SAILORS. | PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Sydnzt, 13th August. Tho Ocean Rover, from Kaipara, has arrived. Sbo experienced terrible weather on the passago aoross, and lost 2000 ft of timber. A wave of tidal character came over the stern and washed tho helmsman away. He was only saved by catohing a rope. Another sailor was caught by a wave, and, being thrown up in the ratlines, was saved. The oabin was flooded, and the voasol's provisions destroyed. Auckland, 13th August. Messrs. J. Reid & Co. aro in receipt of cable advioo stating that the barquentine Frank Guy arrived at Sydney yesterday, after a long passage of 30 days from Moroury Bay. Captain Hopwith reports that the latter three weeks of the voyage woro exceptionally stormy, and furious gales blew from the southward, tho vosscl reooiving some slight damage.
