Wellington Provincial Industrial Association.

The adjonrned meeting with regard to the formation of an Industrial Association was. held at the Chamber of Commerce last evening. Mr. P. Hutson was voted to the ohair. The Provisional Seoretary (Mr. Charles Callis) reported that he had obtained the signatures of 45 persons who were willing to join, while 15 or 20 more had promised to do so when the Association was formed. On the motion of Mr. A. S. Biss, seconded by Mr. D. Eobertson, it was resolved, "That an Association, to be known as the Wellington Provincial Industrial Assooiatinn, be formed, and that the subscription be not more than £1 Is per annum." The following oommittee was appointed to draft ru1e5,.40., and report to a future meeting:— Messrs. T. Ballinger, J. E. Evans, H. Fiookton, P. Hutson, T. 8. Lambert, A. I. liittlejohn, W. H. MHlwarf, N. Keid, D. Bobertson, H. Hurrell, M. Kennedy, C. Lake, E. Arnold, and A. S. Biss, with power to add to ita number. The Committee arranged to hold its first meeting on Thursday evening, in the same room if it oould be obtained. The meeting expressed confidence in being able to' establish a strong Association on the lines of the Christohurch Association (whioh has been working fqr upwards of 16 years), believingthat it would supply"* long-felt want in Wellington.
