Christchbkch, 28th July. Five men who bad been employed on the relief works in the oity were brought up at the Magistrate's Court and charged with drunkennesß. The men were among those who were given employment on the condition that they left tho oity at tho end of the week. They were paid off on Thursday morning, and received .£1 eaoh. When arrested they had small sums of money in their possession. The Magistrate fined two of them 10s each. Another was fined ss, and two were convicted and ordered to be discharged on payment ot Conrt costs. Wanganui, 28th July.
