An Extraordinary History.
A few weeks ago a Polish lady, a refugee named lime. Rostowska, said to be 112 years old, appeared at the Prefecture at Lille to receive her pension from the Frenoh Government. Her history is extraordinary. She followed the French army in the Russian campaign as a canteen woman, and took part in 12 oampaigna in all. She was twioo wounded, and wears the order of the Silver Croßs. In 1831 she acted as surgeon to tbe 10th Polish Line Regiment, in which her husband was a captain. For the last 20 years she has lived at Aniohe, where she ia known for her philanthropy. She brought up 15 ohildren, though her laatßurviving son died several years ago, aged 80.
